Sweetery Toronto Food Festival

by - August 03, 2015

I have a major sweet tooth, so I am super excited for the upcoming Sweetery Toronto Food Festival. It's the first inaugural food festival that is dedicated solely to all things confectionery. The two-day event will take place on Saturday, August 15th and Sunday, August 16th starting at 11 am, at Front & Portland in Downtown Toronto. The Sweetery Toronto Food Festival is a collaboration with George Brown College Chef School and they're raising funds for SickKids Foundation, so it's also for a good cause. Another sweet deal (pardon my pun) is that admission to the festival is completely free!

According to their official website, the special two-day event aims to showcase "the delectable world of confectionery and culinary arts in the Greater Toronto Area". [source: http://www.sweeterytoronto.com]

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample confectionery pastries, and treats from local shops, and George Brown College Chef School culinary students. There will also be quite a few interactive activities to partake in at the festival from loot bags, to taking a hit at pinatas with proceeds going to the Sick Kids foundation, and guessing the number of jellybeans in a jar.

This is a great event for a good cause. So, I hope to see everyone at the event to support SickKids Foundation, while enjoying the abundance of sweets available.
